This project was primarily spearheaded by MegAnne Stryker as a tribute to the late Joey Jordison, drummer of Slipknot. Over the weekends of September 11-12 and 18-19, 2021, the team captured over 400 photos with the intention of displaying them in a mini gallery. However, a major fallout occurred on the second night of principal photography, cutting the shoot short and leaving the project incomplete.
Four months later, it was mutually decided by the duo to call it quits for good and go their separate ways. By October 2022, as Yegge was wrapping up loose ends in model photography and preparing for a final shoot in England, this remained as the last of the incomplete projects. Disliking unfinished work, Brian himself revisited the project’s original objective—a tribute to the drummer—and decided there had to be at least one photo that could fulfill that goal.
While the initial plan for a mini gallery was abandoned, leaving the project entirely incomplete was not an option for him. After a day of sifting through the photos, one image was selected that perfectly fit the narrative and scope of the tribute. During a long flight to England, the photo was edited on a MacBook Pro, resulting in three versions: the original, a black-and-white version, and a dark-toned sepia version.
Upon landing, the edited photos were sent to Ms. Stryker in PDF format, marking the project’s completion. Although the process produced only one final image, it also yielded several behind-the-scenes videos, which are included below in the Video Commentary dropdown.
